A New Ambulance for Farah Province Afghanistan: Christmas giving at its best

The Support Association for the Women of Afghanistan SAWA (SA) has just launched a crowd funding drive to buy a new ambulance for Hamoon Clinic in remote Farah province of Afghanistan. The old second-hand ambulance was donated from Germany and  after 12 years has lived out its life. Now emergency transports to Herat use an old car that has frequent breakdowns even with patients while on the road. A new ambulance is urgently needed.

If you don’t know how crowd funding works, here is a brief summary: SAWA (SA) sets a target that has to be reached within two months. Supporters pledge to donate an amount of their choice and receive a reward in return. If the target is reached within the two months all pledges are called in from the supporters’ credit cards and the rewards are handed out. Should the target not be reached the funding drive is unsuccessful; no money changes hands and no rewards are handed out.

We hope in our heart that you will decide to support the drive. Rewards are available from as little as $15 and the choice is large, from USB memory sticks to electronic music, artwork from Afghan orphans or a copy of our unique and outstanding art book Two Trees. You can become a sponsor and have your name written on the ambulance. You can even travel to Afghanistan and be a guest of OPAWC, our Afghan NGO partner, during International Womens’ Day celebrations in Kabul!

The fundraising drive can be found here http://www.pozible.com/ambulance, Please tell all your friends about it and help us to get a new ambulance for Hamoon Clinic!
